Publisher Hindawi leaves the STM Association over its resistance to open access change
The open access publisher Hindawi has decided to leave the STM Association, accusing the publisher trade association of resisting rather than embracing and facilitating change toward open access publishing.
“This decision has come as a result of STM’s overwhelming focus on protecting business models of the past, rather than facilitating new models that Hindawi believes are both inevitable and necessary in order for scholarly publishers to continue contributing towards the dissemination of scholarly research in the years to come.”
Hindawi publishes over 20,000 articles annually in 250 journals in scientific and medical fields as well as some in social sciences – all with open access. Click here to read more.
