CAB Abstracts and Global Health
Published by the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International, CAB Abstracts provides access to the world’s life sciences literature. It comes with CABI Full Text, giving users access to journal articles, conference papers and reports. Global Health by CABI gives researchers access to relevant public health research and practice.

Cambridge Journals Online
Multi-year 2018-2020. The SANLiC agreement is for the 2017 fixed list of 382 peer-reviewed titles published by Cambridge University Press. The agreement excludes new journals and new take-ons but SANLiC members have the option to purchase these at list price.

De Gruyter publishes over 900 journals, covering all areas of scientific research. SANLiC members may choose from various collections to suit their needs.

Duke University Press
Three E-Duke Scholarly Collections are available at reduced prices to SANLiC members: E-Duke Journals (Standard or Expanded collection), E-Duke Books and Euclid.

EBSCOhost is an online information resource comprising multiple databases. In addition to the base packages (Complete, Premium or Ultimate), subject-specific databases are available.

Multi-year 2019-2021. Specialising in management research, Emerald manages a portfolio of over 300 journals. Libraries can choose to subscribe to the entire collection (Emerald eJournals Premier) or to specific subject collections. Emerald also offers e-books and case studies collections.

Encyclopædia Britannica Academic edition
A general knowledge English language encyclopædia especially designed for the needs of colleges and universities. The subscription includes World Data Analyst. An optional subscription at a discounted price is also available for Image Quest.

Multi-year 2020-2022. This database is a compilation of science performance statistics and science trends data based on journal article publication counts and citation data from the Web of Science and other Clarivate Analytics databases.

HeinOnline Academic Core contains a large, image-based legal research collection covering nine centuries of legal history. HeinOnline a La Carte offers a wide choice of legal publications such as the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals, the World Treaty Library and others.

ICE Virtual Library
The online library of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Three packages are available to SANLiC members: ICE eJournals, ICE eBooks and the ICE Complete Journals Archive Package.

Features content from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (The IET).

IMechE Journals Collection
Multi-year 2018-2020. SAGE has collaborated with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers to publish their collection of 18 peer-reviewed journals, which consist of the 16-part Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and two other titles. The ImechE journals cover all aspects of mechanical engineering.

IMF eLibrary
Provides online access to the complete collection of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) publications and statistical data.

The Informit online databases aggregate research in a diverse range of subjects. Content focuses on Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.

InfoSci eJournals
A full-text collection of 170 scholarly, peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journals published by IGI Global. Libraries may choose to subscribe to the full collection or to subject-specific collections.

IOP Science Extra

Multi-year 2020-2022. The JCR provides a systematic, objective means to evaluate journals with quantifiable, statistical information based on citation data. It is integrated with the Web of Science.

Multi-year 2019-2023. Lexis Library, published by Lexis Nexis, is a comprehensive online legal research tool available on the MyLexisNexis platform. It provides access to a comprehensive collection of acts, bills, gazettes and case law.

Curated by top South African legal experts, this database offers practical assistance to legal problems in one convenient platform. Practical Guidance is divided into 30 broad practice areas; SANLiC members may choose to subscribe to all 30 or to any number to make up a bundle of their choice.

LWW Total Access Collection
Multi-year 2020-2022. A collection of 280 online full-text journals. Available only on the Ovid platform.

Published by the American Mathematical Society, MathSciNet provides access to reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information for mathematical literature.

Merck Index Online
Published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Merck Index is an authoritative source of information on chemicals, drugs and biologicals. The fully searchable online edition contains new and historical records not available in the print edition.

OECD iLibrary
Contains all the publications and datasets published by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development since 1998 as well as content published by related organisations such as the International Energy Agency and the Nuclear Energy Agency. Separate subscriptions to other databases on the same platform, e.g. IEA Statistics are also available.

Multi-year 2018-2020. The full package includes over 340 scholarly, peer-reviewed journals published by the Oxford University Press in collaboration with some of the world’s most influential professional societies.

Multi-year 2018-2020. Many of the reference works published by the Oxford University Press are available as online editions. This is the largest single repository of graduate dissertations and theses, listing over four million works from universities in 88 countries across the globe.

Royal Society Packages
The Royal Society publishes a number of high-impact journals and their archive, dating back 350 years, contains some of the most significant scientific papers ever published, including Michael Faraday’s series of electrical experiments, Isaac Newton’s invention of the reflecting telescope and Stephen Hawking’s first research paper. Three packages are available to SANLiC members: Excellence in Science, the Physical Sciences Collection and the Biological Sciences Collection.

Royal Society of Chemistry
Multi-year 2018-2020. The RSC Gold Collection comprises over 40 peer-reviewed international journals that span the core chemical sciences and related fields. SANLiC members that subscribe to both the RSC Gold Collection and the New Journals package are offered a 15% discount on article processing charges. The RSC E-Books packages span the chemical and related sciences as well as a number of specialist topics. Access to the e-books is via the RSC publishing platform with pdf downloads and is perpetual.

Multi-year 2018-2020. SAGE Premier provides access to over 1,000 peer-reviewed scholarly journals published in partnership with over 400 professional societies.

Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), this is the online version of the scholarly, peer-reviewed weekly general science journal, Science.

Scifinder and SciFinder n are online tools from Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) that enable access to the world’s most comprehensive source of references, substances and reactions in chemistry and related sciences.

Springer Nature
The Optimum package provides access to the full Springer e-journal collection as well as Nature, Nature-branded journals and Palgrave Macmillan journals. Other options comprise the full Springer e-journal collection as well as an institution’s existing selection of Nature and Palgrave journals. SANLiC members also have the option to subscribe to additional Nature Academic, Nature Research and Palgrave Macmillan content.

Taylor & Francis Online Journals Library
The offer to SANLiC members is for the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) and the Science and Technology (S&T) packages.  In order to keep increases to a minimum, the Taylor & Francis offer is based on the 2015 title lists, which provide access to 1,800 titles in both collections. SANLiC members may upgrade to the full SSH and S&T collections if they so wish. The Taylor & Francis FRESH Collection comprises new launch titles, which will go into their own collections once they are established.

Taylor & Francis Online Reference (Europa & Routledge imprints)
Individual online titles that can be cross-searched in an online reference resource. Works include the Europa World of Learning, Europa World Plus or Europa World Basic, International Who’s Who, the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy and many others.

World Bank eLibrary
This includes the World Bank policy working papers and reports, the World Bank Economic Review (WBER) and the World Bank Research Observer (WBRO). It also includes full-text access to the complete back list of World Bank books, working paper and journal articles published since the 1990s.
